Introduction

Self-employed immigration is for applicants who have enough ability to hire themselves without working for others, which is what we often call working for themselves. According to the Canadian “Immigration Act”, self-employed immigrants must establish a business in Canada in order to be employed and can contribute to Canada’s economic or cultural fields.


Requirements

  • Applicants must have more than two years of work experience in a specific industry, business operation or management experience in the past five years

  • Adaptability documents, the following evidence shall be provided:
    • Spouse’s educational experience certificate
    • The spouse has currently obtained a Canadian study permit and is studying full-time courses at a Canadian college or above for at least 2 years.
    • If you or your spouse have relatives in Canada, and the relatives are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, the relatives are your parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, aunts/aunts, uncles/uncles, nephews/nieces, nephews/nieces, need to provide Proof of family relationship.
  • Copies of passports of the main applicant and all sub-applicants (spouse and children)
  • If applying for business self-employment in Quebec, the original CSQ is required
  • No criminal record: After the age of 18, if you have lived in any country for 6 months, you need to provide the original without criminal record.
  • Identity documents, the main applicant and spouse need to provide:
    • Birth certificate (including only child certificate)
    • Marriage certificate, if you have been married before, you need to provide the previous divorce certificate. If the previous spouse dies, the death certificate of the deceased spouse is required
    • a copy of ID card
    • A copy of the account book
    • If you have an unmarried spouse who is in fact living together, you need to provide IMM 5409E and at least 12 months of cohabitation relationship documents, such as joint account bank account, joint lease contract, various living bills, such as electricity, water, property fees, etc. Bills.
  • The birth certificate of a child under 22 years of age. If the child is adopted, a legal adoption document is required. If one parent of the child does not accompany the immigrant to Canada, he needs to fill in the IMM 5604 form and sign it, and provide a scanned copy of the ID, and then sign the scanned copy. If the child is over 22 years old and is studying at school, it can also be used as a secondary application. A transcript of the school’s study after the age of 22 must be provided, and a letter issued by the school certifying how many days the child attends school and how many hours he studies every day. Evidence that 22-year-old children need financial support from their parents is also required.
