The purpose of non-criminal record check is that people who have lived in any country or region for more than 6 months will need to confirm that they have no criminal record in this region.

Direct submission of study permits and work permits from China usually requires a police certificate. However, it is usually not required for domestic applications. Immigration applications always require non-criminal inspections.

The non-criminal certificate has high requirements for the time issued, which depends on the immigration program you are applying. The shortest of which requires a non-criminal certificate issued within 3 months.

Q: Will my visa be refused if I have a criminal record?

A: No. Traffic violations such as speeding are under the jurisdiction of the provincial government and generally do not affect immigration applications.
Criminal offences that violate federal law may result in visa refusal. It is not necessary to be detained to have a criminal record. A criminal record without a real sentence may affect immigration.
Whether a specific criminal record affects immigration needs to be compared with the Canadian criminal law. It is possible to apply for pardon after several years of conviction.
