Introduction

Simon Fraser University, often referred to as SFU was founded in 1965, it is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is named after the explorer Simon Fraser who explored the Vancouver area. SFU is a comprehensive public research university in North America. Its human-computer interaction HCI, computing science, and business are among the top universities in the world. Ranked 264th in the 2019QS World University Rankings, 16th in the QS World Young University Rankings for universities established under 50 years, and 1st in Maclean’s Magazine in Canada for comprehensive universities in 2020.

In the course of running the school for more than 50 years, 1 Pulitzer Prize winner, 3 Rhodes scholars, and 43 academicians of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Canada came out of the school. Simon Fraser University’s undergraduate and graduate education implements a one-year, three-semester system. SFU is the first member of the American College Athletic Association (NCAA) in Canada, and it is also the first Canadian university to receive the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities) accredited research universities. SFU is also an important member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the International Association of Universities, and the Canadian Bureau for International Education.

SFU has eight faculties, which offer more than 100 majors, and interdisciplinary majors that cover more than 40 fields:

Campus Information

Simon Fraser University has three campuses located in the Greater Vancouver area. The main campus is located on Burnaby Mountains. The Vancouver Campus is located in downtown Vancouver, and the Surrey Campus is located in the Central City shopping mall. In recent years, the Vancouver Campus has been expanded, most notably Siegel Graduate School of Economics. The three campuses can be reached directly by public transportations. The Vancouver campus is only one block away from the Waterfront Skytrain Station. The Surrey campus is right next to the Surrey Central Skytrain Station. The Burnaby campus is connected to the Production Way-University Skytrain Station and the Sperling-Burnaby Lake Skytrain Station by shuttle services.
